Man of Deeds Wins Iowa Filmmaker Award at Interrobang Festival!
Man of Deeds director, Craig Schaefer, and producer, Ted Rosean, were honored with the Iowa Filmmaker Award at the Interrobang Film Festival in Des Moines June 22-24. The film screened three times at the festival. One local patron summed up the film presentation with the simple phrase, "Fascinating stuff!" This is the fourth year of the festival and it garnered the largest number of international entries yet according to festival producer, Aaron Ward. The festival is part of the greater Des Moines Arts Festival.
Man of Deeds Named Best Documentary by the Iowa Motion Picture Association
The Iowa Motion Picture Association awarded Man of Deeds as Best Documentary at the 2012 IMPA Motion Picture Awards on May 19. The film took home the honor besting steep competition from across state. Fellow filmmaker Charlie Cunliffe accepted the award for LC Production's Ted Rosean and Craig Schaefer as they were tied up with production on another film. The wins marks the second IMPA Best Documentary win for LC Productions. In 2009, ...But Not Forgotten took home top honors as well.
Man of Deeds Wins Big in Vegas!
The Bishop made a trip out west and came home a winner. Man of Deeds was named the Award of Excellence winner at the BEA Festival of Media Arts in Las Vegas on April 16. The BEA festival is the largest film/video festival in the country open to college and university professors.
Silver Eddy Winner at CRIFF!
Man of Deeds took home the Silver Eddy Award for Best Documentary at the 2012 Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival on April 14. This marks the 12th year of the festival sponsored by Collins Road Theatres, KCRG-TV9, Jungle Software, Frame Forge, Best Buy, and Studio4 Productions.
Man of Deeds Takes Top Prize at BIFF!
Man of Deeds was named Best Documentary at the 2012 Beloit International Film Festival in Beloit, WI. The four day film festival featured well over 100 films from around the world. Ted Rosean and Craig Schaefer were on hand to receive the award. The film screened three times in all. Rosean and Schaefer led lengthy film discussions after the showings to enthusiastic crowds.
Man of Deeds at Julien Film Festival in Dubuque
Your favorite Bishop made two appearances at the first annual Julien Dubuque International Film Festival. Producer, Ted Rosean, and director, Craig Schaefer, were on hand to talk about the film after both screenings.
Man of Deeds Heads to Alabama
The South Alabama Film Festival screened Man of Deeds in November as part of their tremendous event in Mobile, Alabama. Mathias Loras spent his first seven years as a missionary in Mobile and it was great to take him back. Rosean and Schaefer were there to discuss the film.
